I feel totally justified on my annoyance at my husbands shrug when I told him my gorgeous new tunic was a Vera Wang.

Poll for straight men*
How many of you know, or at least have a vague notion, of who Vera Wang is? *because I know the gay men know.

wilwheaton: “This primal cry for democracy sprang from young people who could no longer ignore the angst in their gut — the premonition that their future does not compute, that their entire lives will be lived in the apocalyptic shadow of climate-change tipping points, species die-offs, a deadening commercialized culture, a political system perverted by money, precarious employment, a struggle...

I did really well with gifts this year...
And I’m not talking about gifts I got (though those were pretty kick-ass too) I’m talking about the gifts I gave: My mom loved the artisan-made birdhouse I got her so much it’s the only gift she posted pictures of on Facebook. Dad LOVES his new slide scanner and I predict many many embarassing pictures from my childhood will start appearing on the internet over the next year as...

Also... throw a few good thoughts my way please
I got food poisoning last night and I’m still in a lot of pain… if we could all cross our fingers and hope it’s finally passed through by tomorrow that would be great… because today has been pretty bad.

And since it's after midnight here...
Happy Christmas to all and to all at least a little bit of sleep before the kids wake you up in the morning.

I'm really not much of a smiler...
searchingforapieceofmind replied to your photo: What do you think? beautiful, of course. but you reallly need to smile. :) I really don’t smile much, not even in person. Some of my closest friends actually thought I despised them when they first met me because I just don’t smile… not sober anyway. Drunk… now that’s a completely different animal.

In Bizzaro World: Republicans Cave In; Extend Tax...
liberalsarecool: Bowing under intense pressure from members of their own party to end the politically damaging impasse over a payroll tax holiday, House Republican leaders agreed Thursday to accept a temporary extension of the tax cut, beating a hasty retreat from a showdown that Republicans increasingly saw as a threat to their election opportunities next year. I am awake.
I have been awake all night. Number one problem with being sick… it royally screws up your sleep schedule once you start feeling better… thank goodness work is only a half day today.
